If you care about your organic tomato garden, then you likely want to care for your tomato plants in a way that will help them to thrive. Support can really benefit an entire tomato garden.

You may realize that tomatoes really do need support, but have you ever wondered what things you’ll need to support your tomato plants?

Knowing the things you’ll need in order to support your organic tomato garden really depends on the type of support you decide to use. If you decide to support your tomato plants with cattle panel, then you’ll need metal tubing, panel, and wooden planks (for a frame).

If you want to support your tomato plants with a Mesh Trellis, then in addition to the wire mesh you’ll need electrical conduit. If you decide to support your plants with the string method, you’ll need heavy gauge twine and electrical conduit.

Whatever tools you decide to use in order to support your organic tomato garden are fine; as long as they help you reach the ultimate goal of growing healthy tomatoes. Keeping your tomatoes well-supported is a good way to avoid fruit rot.

Tomatoes that are well supported are also easier to take care of, and they may also bear more fruit.
