If you are planting a tomato and/or vegetable garden, then it’s important to make sure it is properly fertilized. What’s the best fertilizer for you to use?

Pay Close Attention to Compounds

When you are selecting a fertilizer, it’s important to pay close attention to the compounds it contains. The best compounds with which to fertilize your soil are Phosphorous, Nitrogen, and Potash.

Phosphorous can help your flowers and roots grow big and strong. Nitrogen is responsible for strengthening plant foliage. Potash helps your plant maintain its health. If you are purchasing a fertilizer, be sure to look out for all 3 of these key ingredients!

Organic Fertilizer

You can always opt to make your tomato/vegetable garden happier by adding organic compost to your soil. If you compost your kitchen scraps and garden waste to add to the soil of your garden, then your plants won’t need as many fertilizer treatments.

Organic compost can also ensure that your tomatoes and vegetables have more nutrients and drainage. It can make your plants better equipped to fight off disease.

Just remember that it is not necessary to rely on chemical fertilizers. You can give your plants an extra dose of nutrients in a natural way.
